Port of Dover Police
The Port of Dover Police is an independent police force that is entirely privately funded.
Compliance
We comply with all national legislation and guidance that is applicable to all police forces. Our officers have the same powers, protections and privileges as all other constables throughout the United Kingdom.
Officers are appointed by two Justices of the Peace to be constables within the limits of the Harbour, Dock, Pier and premises of the undertakers (Dover Harbour Board) and within one mile of the same.

Our mission is to uphold the law and exercise our powers to provide an environment which is crime free, where customers and staff can go about their business without fear of intimidation or violence and where traffic can move unimpeded and safely.
