Changes to parking provision at Dover Waterfront from Tuesday 3rd May 2022
The Port of Dover has been working with Dover District Council in order to strengthen parking provision across the port estate.
Those wishing to park their vehicle at one of the established car parks at Dover Waterfront are advised that Dover District Council (DDC) will take over the running and enforcement of off-street pay-and-display and permit-only parking at the following locations from 11th April 2022:
- Clarence Quay
- De Bradelei Wharf
- Dover Marina Office
- Dover Marina North
- Dover Marina South
- Harbour House
- Lord Warden Square
- Union Street
This will deliver a uniform approach to waterfront parking provision, with DDC already being responsible for on-street parking enforcement along Marine Parade.
Permanent parking permit holders will be unaffected by the change as long as a valid car parking permit is displayed at all times.
Day visitors will be able to pay for parking via Ringo (DDC’s parking provider), details of which will be displayed at each parking location.
The change does not include parking at the Eastern Docks ferry terminal or cruise parking at the Western Docks.

Note to editors:
Dover District Council has entered into an agreement with the Dover Harbour Board for them to provide parking spaces pursuant to section 33(4) Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. This allows for enforcement under an Off-Street Parking Places Order.
Revenues from Penalty Charge Notices are ring-fenced for improvements to local transport initiatives and help to cover the costs of providing public car parks, including maintenance and business rates.
