Ticket Information

All ticket sales (except for foot passengers) must be transacted online, by telephone or at the relevant operator Check-in.

The P&O Ferries foot passenger ticket desk can be found in the Passenger Terminal.

Since April 2000, pet owners have been permitted to travel onboard ferries with their pets, providing certain requirements are met. More precise details can be found at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).

From 1st January 2021, changes to pet travel will take place. Please see latest Govt. information HERE

UK Border Control Allowances

Once you have been cleared from Border Control, the barrier will be lifted and you may drive on. As you continue to head into the Port, some motorists (but not all) will be asked to pull into the search building, where your vehicle may be searched. This is a standard procedure and agents are just checking for any contraband.

There are allowances for products such as alcohol and tobacco. For more information and guides to what duty free allowances you are allowed to travel with, please visit https://www.gov.uk/duty-free-goods/overview

Port Security

Under the regulations of the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code 2004 the Port Authority is responsible for creating and maintaining a secure area around all vessels.

As a condition of entering this restricted area you may be required to submit yourself, your baggage and your vehicle to a security search.

Failure to comply with these regulations could result in a refusal to enter the restricted area for onward travel.

Any items that could be used as an offensive weapon will be confiscated. You will have the option of having any legally confiscated items returned to you on your return but this will incur a storage and administration charge of £30 plus postage, all other items will be disposed of by the Port of Dover.

We fully understand the frustration that these checks can cause to our customers but the Port must carry them out by law and co-operating fully with the security staff will enable them to carry out their checks in a matter of minutes and get you back on your way.

Verbal abuse or violence against any staff will not be tolerated and will result in the Police being called.

Lost Property

The Lost & Found Property Office is located at Harbour House Reception. To check for found property or to report a loss call +44 (0) 1304 245 392 (Open 8:30-17:00 Monday to Thursday and 08:30 to 16:00 om Fridays except Bank Holidays) or Email property.office@doverport.co.uk.

There will be a small handling fee for the return of lost items.

Unaccompanied trailer park facilities are available in the Eastern Docks.

The charging rate for demurrage in the Unaccompanied Trailer Park in the Eastern Docks is £73.85 per 24 hours or part thereof.

Trailers which are collected within a 24 hour period are exempt from charges. Trailers which exceed the first 24 hour period will be charged for the entire duration of their stay, calculated from the time and date of arrival.
