The Dover Marina Open days are back again for 2019, including sailing taster sessions, life jacket checks, flare amnesty, boat sale and a range of marine related exhibitors.

Car parking will be free for all visitors, car parking will be limited and offered on a first come, first served basis.

The Team at the Port of Dover will be running competitions for both adults and children with prizes including cuddly toys and private tours of the Port (including boat trips).

Canterbury Archaeological Trust - Bronze Age Boat

Canterbury Archaeological Trust was established in 1976 and is now one of the leading archaeological organisations in the South East. In 1992 the Trust excavated the remains of a large sewn-plank boat in Dover, dating to around 1550 BC, the Middle Bronze Age. A half-scale replica of the boat was constructed in 2012 and is now operated from Dover Marina by the Trust. The replica will be available to view and will be paddled on short trips from the visitor’s pontoon during the Open Day. Come along and try it out!

Providing a magical experience for visitors with free magic tricks, face painting, music and suprises in store.

Dover RNLI

Dover lifeboat station will be giving tours and the crew will be on hand for a chat!

Boat-Shift Marine Transport

Boat-shift Ltd. is an established specialist boat and yacht haulage firm based locally, near Folkestone. We provide a very high standard of professional and personal service based upon 20 years of experience in the marine industry.

Kent Wildlife Trust

The Kent Wildlife Trust was founded in 1958, we are a registered charity and the leading conservation organisation covering the whole of Kent and Medway, dedicated to protecting wildlife and wild habitats for everyone to enjoy.

We are promoting the important project work undertaken in the Dover area and Kent. These projects are to help protect local wildlife and habitats, the community projects in Dover engage the local community with opportunities to get involved into volunteering or to participate in nature based local activities.

Clarke and Carter

Viking Maritime Skills Academy

VIKING is the leading Cruise Ship and Superyacht Crew Management specialists primarily offering career opportunities globally for Officers & Crew of all positions.

The Maritime Skills Academy, part of The Viking Family of Companies, provides vital training for the maritime industry with its extensive portfolio of MCA accredited STCW courses, refresher training and professional development courses. 

The centre is fully equipped for all STCW safety training featuring a dedicated environment survival pool complex, full fire training ground and lifeboat centre.

We will be showcasing what training we do at the Maritime Skills Academy. Bringing down some of our equipment, we will be able to show what some of the training entails. We will be on hand to discuss any training issues people may have, what training is required and also discuss any recruitment related queries.

UK Border Force

The general maritime form part of Border Force and will be on hand with free giveaways marine infromation.

Royal Cinque Ports Yacht Club

Royal Cinque Ports Yacht Club enjoys the position of being a premium yacht club on the South coast of England. They have a comprehensive range of racing and cruising programmes. They also have an extensive programme of social activities all year round. Located in Dover, we are just a short journey away from the continent, thus in an ideal position for the cruising fraternity. So why not call in and enjoy the atmosphere, find out what is on offer and perhaps join. Guests most welcome to join and take advantage of super club facilities.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service

Dover Fire Station team will be down on the day to talk fire safety and will be sure to bring some exciting equipment for visitors to try.

Dover and Deal Sea Cadets

Dover and Deal Sea Cadets is for ages 10 -18, children can gain boating and other qualifications including first aid and catering. Cadets can also gain RYA, D of E and BTEC qualifications.

Wet Wheels

Our exciting Wetwheels boats improve the quality of life and equality of opportunity for all disabled people by providing access to the sea onboard specially built, accessible powerboats.

Wetwheels boats are 9m long, catamaran powerboats, powered by two 300hp outboard motors. They are fast and capable of reaching 40 knots. However, they are also stable and designed to accommodate people of all abilities, including children, wheelchair users and people with profound and multiple learning disabilities.

This is what makes a Wetwheels boat unique. Our beneficiaries are active participants, not just passive passengers, with the opportunity to steer the vessel, learn seamanship, or even fish, alongside their peers, friends, and families. The experience is a truly inclusive one that helps to improve aspirations and increase confidence.

Cinque Ports Sailing

Cinque Ports Sailing provides Sailing Opportunities for all ages. It is accredited by the RYA as a Recognised Training Centre.

At the Marina Open Day, we will provide yacht sailing tasters for those interested in taking sailing courses, as well as handing out promotional literature.
