POST - BREXIT TRAVEL AND COVID-19 ADVICE

The Port has kept essential goods, such as food, medicine and components, flowing throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, showing the resilience of the Short Straits and enabling customers to benefit from the unrivalled capacity, efficiency and service frequency available here during this difficult period.

We want you to continue benefitting from choosing the Port of Dover.

Health Declaration and Travel Certificate

Please complete both parts of the form for everyone travelling before reaching the Port. There are seperate declarations for people over and under 11 years of age. Please complete a form for each passenger.

Each passenger is also required to complete a travel certificate explaining the reason for travel prior to departure.

Declaration Form for International Travel from England

From 8th March 2021, the UK Government requires passengers to complete a declaration of reason for international travel, when travelling from England. Please follow the link below for further information and to download the form, which will be need to be completed and taken to the Port on your departure.

Pre-Travel COVID-19 Testing

Passengers aged 11 and over require a negative result from a PCR test, taken within the previous 72 hours. French Border controls will require you present digital or paper evidence of the negative result from the test provider. A list of private test providers can found here

Overnight Curfew in France

There is currently an overnight curfew in France, if you wish to travel between 18.00hrs and 06.00hrs, you will need to complete a Travel Exemption Certificate giving your reason for travel. Further information is available here and the Exemption Certificate can be downloaded here.

If you are travelling through France to another country, you will still need all the above and also check requirements for other countries on your journey.

TRAVEL FROM FRANCE TO UK - LEGAL REQUIREMENTS

Certificate of Exit from France

Each passenger must complete a certificate (Attestation de sortie du territoire) detailing a valid reason for leaving France. Everyone travelling needs to complete this form before arrival at the Port.

In order to protect your health and that of others, all passengers must complete a passenger locator form before arrival in the UK.

Pre-Travel COVID-!9 Testing

Passengers aged 11 and over require a negative result from a COVID test, taken within the last 72 hours (for information on acceptable test types, please click here). You will need to present an email or text message certificate in English, French or Spanish issued by the testing facility, at UK Border controls. Failure to do so will result in a £500 fine. Travel Testing Package Booking

Before travelling you must book a travel testing package. You must take a COVID-19 test on day 2 and day 8 of quarantine. Full details are availbale here.

Quarantine on Arrival

All arrivals in the UK must quarantine for 10 days, unless exempt. Further advice available here.

Test to Release

If you are self-isolating in England, you may opt into Test to Release. For more information please follow this link.

CORONAVIRUS/COVID-19 GUIDANCE

 Kent Access Permit

From 20th April the Kent Access Permit is no longer required.

Local Hauliers Permit

The Local Haulier Permit will allow HGV drivers working for hauliers in East Kent to avoid having to incur unnecessary delays and expense by not having to go to the back of the Brock queues if they are in use.

Holders of a Local Haulier Permit will still need to get a KAP to show they are border ready.
