POST - BREXIT TRAVEL AND COVID-19 ADVICE

To help maximise the efficiency you already enjoy today, you will need to be aware of, and prepare for, the following:

Changes to international travel rules from 4 October 2021

From 4am Monday 4 October 2021, the rules for international travel to England will change from the red, amber, green traffic light system to a single red list of countries and simplified travel measures for arrivals from the rest of the world. The rules for travel from countries and territories not on the red list will depend on your vaccination status.

TOURIST PASSENGERS

UPDATE AS OF THE 30TH OF NOVEMBER 2021

New testing rules apply from 4 AM on Tuesday 30th November. All passengers must take a PCR test on Day 2 after arrival and isolate until they get a negative result.

TRAVEL FROM THE UK TO FRANCE - LEGAL REQUIREMENTS  FROM 19 JULY 2021

French Health Declaration (A)

All passengers over 12 years old must complete a Health Declaration Statement of honour form.
Unvaccinated passenger must declare a compelling reason for travel.

 Each passenger must complete these forms and present them either digitally or printed to border control authorities.

A negative COVID test (B)

Unvaccinated passengers over 12 years old travelling on our passenger service require a negative result from a non-NHS PCR test or a non-NHS Antigen (lateral flow) test taken in the previous 24 hours. At French border controls you will need to present digital or paper evidence of the negative result from the test provider.

Fully vaccinated passengers (or children travelling with a fully vaccinated adult) will not be required to present a negative test result to enter French territory. More information.

PLEASE NOTE:

Anyone arriving from the UK must quarantine for seven days (unless transiting through France in under 24hrs, under 12 years old or are fully vaccinated

If you are travelling through France to another country, you will still need all of the above and also check requirements for other countries on your journey.

TRAVEL FROM FRANCE TO THE UK - LEGAL REQUIREMENTS FROM 19 JULY 2021 *UPDATED AS OF THE 24TH OF OCTOBER

Fully Vaccinated Arrivals

If you arrive in England after 4am Sunday 8 August, and you are fully vaccinated in the UK, USA or Europe, you will not need to:

You must still book and take a day 2 COVID-19 test.
From the 24th of October, passengers can book a cheaper lateral flow test instead of a PCR test in advance of travel to take by the end of day 2 of arrival in England. PCR testswill also still be accepted.

Passenger Locator Form

All passengers over 16 years old must complete an individual passenger locator form before arrival at their departure port in France (details of children under 16 must be included on a form completed by the adult accompanying them). Each passenger locator form must specify the unique reference number of the booked pre-travel testing package. This form must be presented in digital or paper format to the border authorities.

Pre-Travel COVID-19 Testing

Passengers aged 11 and over require a negative result from either a non-NHS PCR test less than 72hrs or an approved non-NHS lateral flow test less than 48hrs before travelling.(for information on acceptable test types, please click here). You will need to present an email or text message certificate in English, French or Spanish issued by the testing facility, at UK Border controls.

Fully vaccinated passengers will also need to provide proof of their vaccination status either via NHS app or via an NHS COVID Pass letter.

Failure to do so will result in a £500 fine. For information on testing available in France, please click here.

Travel Testing Package Booking

Before travelling you must book a travel testing package. You must take a COVID-19 test on day 2 and day 8 of quarantine. Full details are availbale here.

Quarantine on Arrival for Non Fully Vaccinated

All arrivals in the UK must quarantine for 10 days, unless exempt. Further advice available here.

 Kent Access Permit

From 20th April the Kent Access Permit is no longer required.

Local Hauliers Permit

The Local Haulier Permit will allow HGV drivers working for hauliers in East Kent to avoid having to incur unnecessary delays and expense by not having to go to the back of the Brock queues if they are in use.

Holders of a Local Haulier Permit will still need to get a KAP to show they are border ready.
